Your Gift Makes a Difference

Since 1912, The Cleveland Music School Settlement, Cleveland's oldest major music institution, has brought the arts into the lives of thousands. People of all ages, backgrounds and abilities have benefited from the dedication of our faculty Photoand the excellence of our services. The Settlement provides financial assistance, enabling those who otherwise might not be able to afford it, access to quality arts instruction, music therapy services and early childhood programs.

To continue this legacy and to maintain its unique position as a major community resource, the Settlement depends upon the generosity and financial support of current students, alumni, friends, foundations and corporations. Your tax-deductible gift can and does make a difference.

Giving Opportunities

While you may designate your contribution toward a specific program or activity, unrestricted gifts provide us with the flexibility of applying funds where the need is greatest. Unrestricted contributions help create a strong foundation that supports all of the activities at the Settlement including financial aid, scholarships and facilities renovation.

Commemorative gifts
A commemorative gift to the Settlement is a unique way to honor a life, birthday, anniversary or other special occasion. Those being recognized in this way will be sent a letter notifying them of your donation.

Matching gifts
Many companies offer employees a matching gift benefit that can substantially increase the amount of your contribution. When making a gift to the Settlement, please determine first if your employer has a corporate matching gift program. Your human resources office can supply you with specific instructions regarding its process for matching gifts.

Endowment gifts
These gifts provide permanent support for the unique programming that makes the Settlement a cultural treasure in the community. The funds are invested, and only the income generated from those funds is spent. A named endowment fund may be established with a minimum gift of $5,000. Creating a named endowed fund is a wonderful way to honor a family member or friend.

Planned gifts
A gift to the Settlement as part of your estate plan is an investment in the future of the community. Your gift of a bequest, trust, insurance or charitable gift annuity can be designated towards any Settlement program or initiative. We will be happy to discuss the options available with you and your financial advisor.
