In the fall of 2008, discussions between representatives from the Cleveland Heights / University Heights school district and The Music Settlement transpired. The Music Settlement was chosen by the search committee of the school district as the primary party with which to negotiate a lease for the usage of the former Coventry Elementary School. Initial meetings occurred in early 2009, at which time, it was determined that The Music Settlement needed to conduct a full facilities assessment of the site. In spring, 2009, endorsement from the School Board was received to support The Music Settlement as the primary partner for the site. We have recently reached an agreement to develop a state-of-the-art early childhood learning center and training center that features community-shared spaces and arts education programming.
